Dear West Siders,
It was so great to see old friends and meet some of the new families at our Back to School Night! We wish everyone has a wonderful school year.
West Side Win Ticket sales are in full swing! So Far we have sold 94 tickets!! Purchase your ticket today. Tomato Sauce Day, our after school program and photo day are on the calendar for next week. Please read below for more details.

Tomato Sauce Day: On Monday, Sept. 26th during their lunch periods, our children will have a taste of some delicious tomato sauce with bread (gluten free bread will also be available) for dipping. They can also taste and smell the various herbs that were grown this summer in our WS organic garden. We need volunteers to bring in a pot of sauce. Make your own recipe or use our tomato sauce recipe attached. The kids love tomato sauce day so please contact Suzi Berg suzi@seattlebergs.com if you are able to bring in a pot of delicious sauce for the kids to enjoy.

The West Side After School Program will begin on September 26th and the programs will run for 8 weeks. Please make sure to pick up your child at 4:10pm sharp!
Photo Day: Photo day is Thursday, September 29th. There will be no forms sent home. Photo proofs will be emailed home about a week after photo day. Orders can be placed online with the photo company. If you have 3 or more children (across the school district) that you will be ordering packages for, please call the photo company, Island Photo, to receive a discount on your order. West Side Win: Let the Win Begin! Invitations have been sent and raffle tickets are available for purchase. Raffle tickets are $100 each with a chance of winning a Grand Prize of $2,000. All raffle ticket holders are cordially invited the The West Side Win Cocktail Party being held on Oct. 14th @7pm at the Vardy-Stearn residence to celebrate this amazing fundraiser. Cash prize winner(s) will be announced at the party. **Please note, the party is on Oct. 14th. There may have been a typo on some of the invitations. Please purchase your ticket(s) and RSVP for the party. Yearbook:Get your pictures in the yearbook!-The Yearbook Staff invites students and parents to submit photos for the yearbook. If you’ve got great photos of school and community events or you and your friends just having fun, we’d like to see them. Our photographers can’t be everywhere. Help us get as many photos as possible to create a terrific book everyone will want to have.
Here is how you can submit photos online:

• If it does not automatically log you into the site, enter username: 406403601
• Browse to select the photo(s) you wish to upload.
• Enter information about the photo and provide contact information in case the staff needs additional information.
• Click “Save Details”.
It’s that easy! Submit your photos today! The last day to submit photos is 04/15/2017.
Focus: FOCUS (Families Of Communities United with Schools)will be presenting a workshop on Stress Management Techniques for You and Your Children led by Dr. Jennifer Hartstein – psychological contributor for The Today Show and The Dr. Oz Show on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 9:00am in the District Office Community Room.
