Message from the PTG President:
Dear West Siders,
We would like to thank Randi Weiss, her committee and our wonderful West Side kids for presenting us with an exciting talent show filled with a variety of entertainment. We would also like to thank Claudia Marino, Christine Masata and their committee for providing us with a delicious ice cream social to top off the evening. It was overall a spectacular evening enjoyed by all!
The WS Run is this Sunday and we encourage everyone to come to West Side on Saturday night from 6-8pm to pick up your t-shirts and run numbers. You can also register during that time if you have not done so already. This will avoid those long lines during the morning of the race. We will provide a free pasta dinner on Saturday evening, so pick up your shirts and numbers on Saturday and come prepared for the race on Sunday morning. See you all at the Finish Line!
WEST SIDE RUN 2016- This Sunday May 22nd at 8:30am is our West Side Run. This is our final school fundraiser so come out and register to run. If you cannot run we are still accepting family sponsors. ALL money raised goes to the PTG programs benefitting your children. Hope to see you all there. RAIN or SHINE!
Pre registration and FREE carb loading pasta dinner is on Saturday evening from 6-8PM at West Side. Pick up your number and t-shirt. Please plan to get to the school early Sunday morning for parking and registration. Streets will start closing at 8:30.
The One mile run starts promptly at 9 AM, 5K starts at 9:30 AM. Hope to see you all there for a great, fun family day!
Talent Show Thank You- What an electrifying night we all shared at the 2016 West Side Talent Show. With just about 110 performers and student crew members, the night belonged to them. They were all stars from the littlest 2nd graders to our graduating 6th graders! Thanks to Ms. Martin and the NYSSMA singers who did a beautiful job opening the show with the National Anthem. A huge thanks to Mr. Simon, Mrs. Dussol, Mrs. Manniello, Mrs. Ruhl and Mrs. Sposato for all your help. Thanks to all the very many adult volunteers, Kerri Albers, Jillian Damast, Jack and Jenn Genser, Vinny Samuels, and Amir Weiss. You were an amazing team as always! Finally, a very special thank you to the PTG for the yummy ice cream social and especially to the community for supporting this spectacular event which allows our children of all ages to express themselves through the performing arts. Can’t wait to see what new talent will be for the 2017 West Side Talent Show. Start rehearsing! The DVD of the show will be distributed in the children’s backpack as soon as I get them. Ice Cream Social-Thank You! We would like to thank the following volunteers who helped make the Ice Cream Social a great success. ATTN: ALL 6TH GRADE FAMILIES: Mark your calendars!! Monday, June 20th @10am is the 6th grade graduation ceremony at the PAC. Following the ceremony will be the Graduation Party being held at the Harbor Club at Prime from 12-3pm! The Punchbowl invite for the 6th grade graduation party was sent, so Please RSVP! Please send in your checks payable to WSS-PTG to the main office in an envelope labeled 6th grade graduation- Attn: Marilena DiScala as soon as possible so we can have an accurate head count for the venue.
