Message from the PTG President:
Dear West Siders,
May is jam packed with events and activities and we are so excited for the upcoming weeks. We began May with our Staff Appreciation luncheon. Thank you to Nicole Boutis and Jackie Loeffler for chairing this wonderful event. What a wonderful way to show how much we appreciate all they do for our children throughout the year!
We hope to see many of you at our PTG Thank you breakfast/meeting. This is our final meeting for this school year and we really do hope to have a high attendance. All of the wonderful events and cultural arts programs which are provided at West Side would not be possible without your continued support. We will also have Dr. Judy Wilansky and Dr. Bernhard answer any questions you may have on the upcoming budget vote. Our agenda as well as last months meeting minutes are posted on our website wssptg.com for your review.
Thank you to those parents who volunteered to join the 2016-2017 PTG board. We will be announcing the new slate at Tuesday’s meeting. There are still many other ways to volunteer your time to help make a difference such as joining our cultural arts committee, Septa, Focus, and CPC. Remember, it takes a village to raise a child and we live in a great village. As always, if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to any one of your board members.
We wish all the moms a very Happy Mother’s Day!!
Warmest Regards,
Ana

Talent Show: The West Side Talent show is in ONE WEEK! All the performers did a WONDERFUL job at the last rehearsal. Please make sure that your children keep practicing and polishing their big moves and tuning up their instruments. T-shirt’s will be given out after each child performs on the night of the talent show. The T-shirts will be worn for the finale which will be choreographed from 5:00-5:30 on the day of the dress rehearsal. The dress rehearsal is on Friday May 13th at the High School (Performing Arts Center-PAC) right after school. Parents need to drive their kids to the PAC.
Act 1 performers need to be at the PAC from 3:30-5:30, Act 2 performers need to be at the PAC from 5:00-7:00. Stage Crew needs to be there for both Acts. ALL PERFORMERS IN EACH ACT MUST STAY FOR THE ENTIRE TIME THAT THEY ARE SCHEDULED (Parents please do not ask to take your child out early, we all have places we need to be). If a child would like to watch the entire rehearsal they are welcome to stay for both. We will be running sound and lights and may need to redo certain acts at the end of each, so be patient, it may run a half hour longer per session. Students can bring a snack and beverage (no food is allowed in the PAC).
The Talent Show is on Saturday, May 14th at 7pm at the High School in the PAC. Performers need to get there no later than 6:15. Please have your child sign in with Mrs. Albers when they arrive. There will be a roped off area in the front of the auditorium for “performer seating only.” A school aide will assist in seating the performers. Doors to the PAC will NOT open until 6:45.
Whether you’re in the show or just there to support your classmates, it’s going to be a most memorable night. The show is free and so is the ice cream social immediately following the show in the high school cafeteria. We have a wonderful line up and I thank all of you who volunteered to help out. West Side’s Talent 2016 will be our Hollywood’s Oscar Night!
