We have started off the New year with a whirlwind of activity! There are many exciting events scheduled! Please join us tonight at 5:30 PM for our annual Movie Night and wear your favorite PJ’s as we partake of yummy pizza and popcorn and snuggle up to watch Ice Age 4: Continental Drift.
Please remember to join us for our annual Book Fair which has been re-scheduled and will take place on January 24 and 25. Come and help your child select some wonderful reading materials.
We hope to see you all on Sunday, January 27 for our annual Ice Skate Night where we share fun, laughter and delicious hot chocolate and goodies after spending quality time on the ice with friends and neighbors (please wear helmets).

MOVIE NIGHT:

WEST SIDE KIDS CARE:
Our second Food Pantry delivery was made last week to a very grateful Tri Community Youth Agency in Huntington Station. Please keep the healthy foods, particularly after school snacks coming!
Our second HIHI Sandwich-Making event was held this week with the 4th graders. Thank you to William Buonfiglio, Jasmine Chandy, Carley Genser, Sarah Lynch, Johnny Maccarone, Kristen Samuel and the Rush and Siddiqui families for your contributions and gourmet sandwich making abilities. Monday, February 4th will be the second grade’s turn to be chefs! More to come….

DADDY AND ME:
Our annual Daddy and Me event is coming up on February 10th from 5:30-7:00. For those of you unfamiliar with this event, it is an opportunity for the Dads to spend quality time with their children grades 2-6. There will be board games, bingo, basketball, music and lots of food. Pasta dinner will be served. Grandpas and Uncles welcome if Dad is unavailable. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with this event. We would like to offer community service credits to any middle school or high school volunteers that would like to help out with this event. TALENT SHOW:
It’s that time again, get ready…set…perform, all you wonderfully talented West Side Stars! The 2013 West Side Talent Show will be held on Friday, March 1st. The show is open to all students, 2nd through 6th grade. Both Parents and Students should read all the rules before filling out the participation form. There are two mandatory rehearsals, see form for dates. The participation forms are attached to the Brief and must be submitted no later than 1/25/13. (Late submissions will not be accepted.) Additional participation forms will be available in the office. Applications must be submitted with the $25 fee (per family) payable to WSSPTG which includes the show CD and (1) T-shirt. Additional performers in the same family mustpurchase additional t-shirts at $10 each per performer submitted with the application (T-shirts will be worn in the finale.) We are sure to have a great show with all the talented students at West Side. If you are doing a musical act, a CD or digital copy of the song must be submitted or emailed to me by January 31, if you would like me to copy and edit the music, please indicate that on the application form.
