12.21.12 Brief

Dear West Side Families,

In the aftermath of tragedy comes a greater appreciation for all we have and all we hold dear. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you, not only for being such a generous and caring community, but also for being such wonderful role models for your children, who will be the leaders of the future. Through your actions, you show them each and every day how to appreciate what they have and how to share their fortunes with others.

Our Toy Drive was an incredible success as was the number of parents and children who gave of their time to help wrap the toys. Our Art to Remember fund raiser helped to raise over $2000 for the art department and we will be seeing some wonderful new art pieces decorating our hallways soon.

We have an incredibly busy January to look forward to starting with Movie Night, our rescheduled Book Fair and Winter Concert, and Ice Skate Night.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy Holiday Season surrounded by loved ones and friends!

Much Love,

Lolita Reichbach

WEST SIDE KIDS CARE:

Once again the West Side Community came through for those in need!  A heartfelt thanks to all of you who donated toys during this year’s drive and made the holidays a bit brighter for some local children.  Last Friday, the community room was a gigantic wrapping party where 179 gifts were labeled and wrapped by 25 very enthusiastic students:  Charlie and Sophie Cohen, Eddie Munyak, Ben & Sam Reichbach, Jackie & Robert Shammah, Katie Belfi, Sarah & Luke Lynch, Bella Vallone, Kat Angelides, Kristen Samuel, Isabelle Apostolakos, Carley & Sammy Genser, Sabrina Haas, Avery Stark, Alexa Tocante, Kelly & Erin Gallagher, Julia Kopp, Stamati Sagos, Royce Reiter, and Anthony Naccarato.  Thanks also to the following parents who helped the kids wrap:  Heidi Cohen, Ana Shammah, Lorena Munyak, Diane Angelides, Brigitte Apostolakos, Dana Stark, and Tara Belfi.  Please forgive me if I missed anyone.  What a gift we have given both to those who are suffering and to our own children.  Keeping spirits bright – West Side Kids Care wishes you a wonderful holiday season full of family, friends, and happiness!  ENJOY!
