Dear West Side Families,
The Nominating Committee to elect the PTG Board for the 2013-2014 school year has been formed. Thank you to all the ladies who have so graciously agreed to be a part of this very special committee.
Please be on the lookout for the letter inviting you to submit your name for one of our Board positions. I consider it an honor and a privilege to sit on the PTG board and to help make decisions which enhance the learning experience for our children. Being a part of the PTG affords us the ability to work closely with teachers, staff and our WS community and I hope you will consider joining us.
We hope to see you on Sunday at 5:30 PM for Daddy and Me which promises to be a fun night for all and on Friday, March 1st for our Annual Talent Show and Ice Cream Social.
Warmly,
Lolita
DADDY AND ME:
Sunday, February 24th is the West Side School annual Daddy & Me event. From 5:30 to 7 PM dads and kids can enjoy great food, fun and entertainment together. There will be raffles for dads and the kids. We hope to see you there!
TALENT SHOW:
The final countdown has begun. Seven days left until the big show. Just a reminder of important dates and times. There is a mandatory dress rehearsal (all performers need to have their costumes for the rehearsal) on February 28, Thursday at the PAC directly after school (3:30 pm). All parents are required to get their children to the high school after school, carpooling is strongly suggested. Performers are required to stay for the entire rehearsal. We will be choreographing the finale and may need to run certain acts over at the end due to lighting and sound. The rehearsal should run for about 3 hours, please do not ask if you can take your child home early, it is not fair to the rest of the kids. Your child may bring their homework and pack an extra snack for them that day as well. Feel free to stay for the rehearsal if you choose. All children need to have a pick up note if you are picking them up directly from school.
There is also a stage crew meeting for all kids who signed up for backstage crew. We will be having a meeting at 3:30 at the PAC on Thursday Feb 28 as well. We will be handing out assignments for the day of show, please let me know if you are unable to attend this meeting. It is encouraged but optional if your child wants to stay for the rehearsal after.
The show will be on FRIDAY, MARCH 1 at 7:00 PM at the PAC in the Cold Spring Harbor High School. We are very excited about this year’s show and know that it will be the best ever!! All crew and performers need to arrive between 6:00-6:15. We will have teacher’s aides and parent volunteers to help you. The auditorium will remain closed until 6:30-6:45 when we open it up to general seating.
This is a special night for our children. Please remind your children to be respectful of each other while they are performing. There is no one like these West Side kids!!! Break a leg West Side!!!
